Worse than mere disrepute

The province's justice system is in grave trouble.

“It is important that the public has faith in the province’s justice system,” justice minister Steve Crocker told reporters last week. 

It is important.

Crocker is right.

But Crocker’s next statement was wrong: “There can be no perception that the administration of justice is in disrepute.”

There should be no perception the system is not working properly.
