Wendy Mesley used to read news at CBC for a living.
Now she’s writes stuff on a Substack that, in this latest one, criticizes Kamala Harris for the way she dresses.
I can just imagine Kamala smiling as she takes off the suit at the end of the day. Maybe the paparazzi will snap her wearing a tee and jeans. Or maybe, she’s so disciplined, that she wears a suit-like thing to bed. I can see it, a long white pantsuit with purple trim. No!!!!!! Please!!! Tell me she wears the suits because she has to. Suits after all “make the man”, and she needs to look like she belongs, like she is man enough to do the job.
It is hard to imagine anything more superficial than that.
But there you have it, folks, from someone who not that long ago was a trusted national journalist.
Now that you’ve got your head full of that, meet Xyla Foxlin, a 28-year-old engineer who - among other things - builds rockets that can fly to more than 7,000 metres altitude at speeds well beyond the speed of sound and, when she’s feeling a bit more artistic but no less engineer, can design and make a dress made out of kevlar.
Enjoy the weekend.
I guess I’m out of touch or strange but when I listen to someone speaking, male or female, I don’t pay much, if any, attention to what they’re wearing but what they’re saying!
