The most-read post a Sir Robert Bond Papers was “Gil Bennett won’t retweet this post.”
A little bit shy of a decade ago.
He’s finally off the public tit. Let him disappear into the sinkhole of obscurity that awaits him and the wobbly politicians from Danny to Andy who enabled, abetted, and encouraged Bennett and the people around him in relentless pursuit of what is arguable the stupidest thing anyone in Newfoundland and Labrador has ever done.
So far.
Stupidest except maybe for the people who voted for the wobblies time and again or who say that Gil is really a nice guy. Who gives a flying f&ck about Gil Bennett's demeanor when we are left to clean up his turd while pocketing millions in salary, severance and a retirement package for his efforts? Who? That crowd’d throw a case of Rice-a-roni the San Francisco treat on top of his parting gifts, sign teary rendition of Auld Lang Sine and let Don Pardo do the voice-over as he leaves the building to waves and cheers rather than give him the ride on a very splintery rail he and his fellow MFers richly earned.
Let us speak his name no more.
The most-read post at the old SRBP is about water management and the only reason Bennett gets a mention is because he was fond of retweeting the lies, half-truths, and other misinformation that people picked up from the NALCOR-Hydro fraud-factory and passed around.
So because Bennett is not in it, feel free to pop over and read a piece about one of Muskrat Falls’ biggest media stooges at the time.
Then cleanse your mind with the stuff that comes after the paywall.
